Shane Radbone: The Australian Financial review - Allied thirst for growth
Allied Brand's retail management division has acquired the four Victorian Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf stores of Bennett Investment with $150, 000of its own cash.

Allied Brand's retail management division has acquired the four Victorian Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf stores of Bennett Investment with $150, 000of its own cash.
The stores will form part of Allied Brand's Franchise Services Division that was established in December 2009. They will be rebranded as Villa and Hut stores and franchised over a six month period.
Villa Hut has 16 outlets in Victoria as well as its headquarters . Allied brands acquired the Villa and Hut homewares and cafe chain in June 2009 for $2.8 million.
As a result of this a the acquisition of the Freedom/Bay Swiss (Stainhoff)stores, Allied Brand chief executive Shane Radbone he expected Villa and Hut to have 50 stores nationally at the end of ths financial year.
Mr. Radbone, who was appointed in March last year and also take up the managing director role this quarter, said the latest investment would add coffee production in the Allied centralized manufacturing facility.
"The acquisition is a perfect addition to the Villa and Hut growth plans," Mr. Radbone said.
Allied Brands plans to rebadged and franchise the stores to individual franchisees and sell as Villa and Hut franchised stores. The sale price for the stores is expected to be at least $200,000 each. They will also provide annual royalty and product supply income to the Retail Management Division.
Villa and Hut chief executive Franz Madlener said the franchisor sold 80 percent of its stires within four months after acquiring Villa and Hut in mid-2009.

Young, dynamic and highly successful Shane founded his own business, Executive Fitness Management at age 20 in 1991. After a successful career in football that took him as high as playing for Essendon, Shane appreciated the need to have more than just sport in his portfolio. Shane Radbone has enjoyed a successful business career and sporting career. Shane played SANFL and AFL football with Sturt and the Essendon Football Club. This begun with starting his own business, Executive Fitness Management, which became the largest Corporate Fitness business in Australia from one customer to more than 3,500 clients. In 1996, Shane was awarded the Australia Day Business Award for contribution to the industry and in 2004 he was awarded the Young Leader of the Year Award for South Australia.
Shane then became CEO of Wendy's and VIP Home Services. During his 5 years, as CEO at Wendy's, he took the business from $75m to $120m.
Shane has been speaking to a number of companies over the past three years on his experiences both in business, sport and life.
